Mussels and Crostini

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mussels

Rinse the mussels under cold water, scrubbing the shells to remove any dirt. Discard any mussels that are open and do not close when tapped.

  2. 2

    Sauté Aromatics

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and shallots, and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant.

  3. 3

    Add Wine and Mussels

Pour in the white wine, followed by the cleaned mussels. Season with salt and black pepper. Cover the pot and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the mussels open.

  4. 4

    Garnish

Once the mussels are cooked, sprinkle chopped parsley over them. Remove from heat.

  5. 5

    Prepare Crostini

While the mussels are cooking, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Spread softened butter on each slice of baguette and arrange them on a baking sheet. Bake for about 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the steamed mussels in bowls with crostini on the side. Squeeze lemon wedges over mussels before eating.
