Salmon

Teriyaki Sauce

Method

Preparing the Teriyaki Sauce

  1. 1

    Make the Teriyaki Sauce

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water. Stir continuously until the mixture thickens and becomes syrupy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Preparing the Salmon

  1. 2

    Prepare the Salmon

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Pat the wild caught salmon fillets dry with paper towels and place them in a shallow dish. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 3

    Grill the Salmon

Once the grill is heated, place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the grill. Cook for about 5-6 minutes, then flip and brush the top side with the prepared teriyaki sauce. Grill for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Serving the Dish

  1. 4

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the salmon from the grill and transfer to a serving platter. Drizzle with more teriyaki sauce, if desired. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish. Serve hot with your choice of side dishes.
