Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Rice

If you haven't already, cook the jasmine rice according to package instructions. Allow it to cool completely, preferably refrigerating it overnight for the best texture.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Beef

Thinly slice the beef sirloin against the grain into strips and set aside.

  3. 3

    Chop the Vegetables

Dice the onion, mince the garlic, and chop the green onions. Dice the carrots if not already done.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Cook the Beef

In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 5

    Scramble the Eggs

In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of sesame oil. Crack the eggs into the skillet and scramble them until fully cooked. Remove and set aside with the beef.

  3. 6

    Sauté the Vegetables

Add the remaining tablespoon of sesame oil to the skillet. Add the diced onions, minced garlic, diced carrots, and peas. Stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.

  4. 7

    Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked rice to the skillet with the vegetables. Stir well to combine. Then, add the cooked beef and scrambled eggs back into the skillet.

  5. 8

    Season the Rice

Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce. Stir-fry everything together for another 3-4 minutes until heated through. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  6. 9

    Finish with Green Onions

Add the chopped green onions and stir to combine. Remove from heat.
