Preparing the Salad Base

Chop the Lettuce
Rinse the romaine lettuce under cold water, then chop it into bite-sized pieces. Place it in a large salad bowl.

Remove the outer leaves of the red cabbage, then slice it thinly. Add it to the salad bowl with the romaine lettuce.

Wash the cucumber, slice it thinly, and add to the salad bowl.

Remove the seeds and stem from the bell pepper, then dice it into small pieces. Add it to the salad bowl.
Adding Toppings

Chop the green onions finely and sprinkle them over the salad.

Finely chop the cilantro and add it to the top of the salad.

Evenly sprinkle the sesame seeds over the salad.

Sprinkle the slivered almonds on top of the salad.

Add the chow mein noodles on top of the salad for crunch.
Making the Dressing

Combine Dressing Ingredients
In a separate bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey, minced garlic, minced ginger, and black pepper. Whisk together until well combined.
Assembling the Salad

Dress the Salad
Pour the dressing over the salad just before serving to maintain the freshness of the ingredients. Toss gently to combine.
