Method

Preparation of Steak

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, 1 teaspoon of brown sugar, 3 minced garlic cloves, and 1 teaspoon of minced ginger. Mix well. Add the flank steak to the marinade, ensuring it's well coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.

  2. 2

    Slice the Steak

After marinating, remove the steak from the bowl and slice it against the grain into thin strips.

Cooking the Vegetables

  1. 3

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced bell pepper and zucchini. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they start to soften. Add the sliced green onions and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 4

    Cook the Steak

In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed and increase the heat to high. Add the sliced steak to the skillet and sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side until cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the steak and set aside.

Making the Sauce

  1. 5

    Prepare the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of chili paste, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and 2 tablespoons of water. Stir until the sugar dissolves.

Combining Everything

  1. 6

    Combine Ingredients

Return the vegetables and steak to the skillet. Pour the sauce over the mixture and toss everything together, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and well combined.

  2. 7

    Add Peanuts

Stir in the roasted peanuts just before serving for added crunch.
