Wrapper Ingredients

For Frying

Method

Preparation of the Filling

  1. 1

    Cook the Filling

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground pork. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Vegetables

Stir in the shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, minced garlic, and chopped green onions. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  3. 3

    Season the Mixture

Add soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Mix well and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Assembling the Egg Rolls

  1. 4

    Prepare the Wrapper

Lay one egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with a corner pointing towards you.

  2. 5

    Fill the Wrapper

Place about 2 tablespoons of the filling in the center of the wrapper.

  3. 6

    Roll the Wrapper

Fold the corner closest to you over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll tightly away from you. Use a little water to seal the edge.

  4. 7

    Repeat

Repeat the process with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Frying the Egg Rolls

  1. 8

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 9

    Fry the Egg Rolls

Carefully place 3-4 egg rolls in the hot oil at a time. Fry for 3-5 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally.

  3. 10

    Drain and Serve

Remove fried egg rolls with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
