Pickle Chips

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pickles

Drain the pickle slices thoroughly on a paper towel to remove excess moisture. This will help the coating adhere better.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate shallow dishes, set up the breading station: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs mixed with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Breading and Frying

  1. 3

    Bread the Pickles

Dip each pickle slice into the flour, shaking off excess, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure it adheres.

  2. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of bread into it; if it sizzles, it's ready.

  3. 5

    Fry the Pickles

Carefully add breaded pickle chips to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.

  4. 6

    Drain and Serve

Once fried, remove the pickle chips with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
