Churro Dough

Cinnamon Sugar

Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine water, unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the all-purpose flour until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Allow the dough to cool for about 5 minutes. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

Cinnamon Sugar Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix Sugar and Cinnamon

In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside for later use.

Frying Churros

  1. 5

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 360°F (180°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe Churros

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Carefully pipe strips of dough directly into the hot oil, cutting them to desired lengths with scissors.

  3. 7

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove them from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  4. 8

    Coat with Cinnamon Sugar

While the churros are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated.
