Sorbet Ingredients

Method

Preparation Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Raspberry Mixture

In a medium saucepan, combine the water and granulated sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. This will create a simple syrup. Remove from heat and allow it to cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Blend the Raspberries

In a blender or food processor, add the fresh raspberries and lemon juice. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and pureed. You can strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the seeds if desired.

  3. 3

    Combine and Chill

Once the simple syrup has cooled, combine it with the raspberry puree in a large bowl. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are combined. Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until it's chilled.

  4. 4

    Churn the Sorbet

Pour the chilled raspberry mixture into an ice cream maker, following the manufacturer’s instructions. Churn the mixture until it reaches a soft-serve consistency, usually about 20-25 minutes.

  5. 5

    Freeze the Sorbet

Transfer the sorbet to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours to firm up. For a firmer texture, you can freeze it longer.

  6. 6

    Serve

Scoop the raspberry sorbet into bowls or cones and serve immediately. Enjoy your refreshing treat!
