Directions
- 1
Prepare the Sticky Rice
Rinse the sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight. Drain the rice.
- 2
Cook the Sticky Rice
Steam the soaked sticky rice in a bamboo steamer or a heatproof dish over boiling water for about 30-40 minutes until tender.
- 3
Prepare the Coconut Sauce
In a saucepan, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved. Reserve about 1/4 cup of this mixture for serving.
- 4
Mix Rice with Coconut Sauce
Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a mixing bowl and pour the remaining coconut sauce over it. Mix well and let it sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- 5
Prepare the Mango
While the rice is resting, peel and slice the fresh mangoes.
- 6
Serve
On a serving plate, place a portion of the sticky rice. Top with fresh mango slices and drizzle with the reserved coconut sauce. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
