Method
Preparation
- 1
Chill the Glass
Start by chilling an Old Fashioned glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water and letting it sit while you prepare the drink.
- 2
Combine the Ingredients
In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of bourbon and 2 dashes of house-hopped bitters.
- 3
Stir with Ice
Add ice to the mixing glass and stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled and diluted.
- 4
Prepare the Glass
Empty the ice water from the chilled Old Fashioned glass. If desired, you can add a large ice cube to the glass.
- 5
Strain the Mixture
Strain the bourbon and bitters mixture into the prepared glass over the ice.
- 6
Garnish
Express the oils from the orange peel over the drink by holding it over the glass and giving it a twist. Drop the peel into the glass, and add a maraschino cherry for garnish.
