Preparation
Prepare Simple Syrup (if not using store-bought)
In a small saucepan, combine equal parts sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved. Allow it to cool before using.

Combine Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz of vodka, 1 oz of espresso liqueur, and 0.5 oz of simple syrup.
Add Ice
Fill the shaker with ice, covering the liquid completely.
Shake
Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until the mixture is well chilled.
Serving
Strain and Serve
Remove the martini glass from the freezer. Using a fine mesh strainer, pour the mixture into the chilled glass.
Garnish
Place three coffee beans on top of the drink for garnish.
