Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Turkey
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
- 2
Make the Marinade
In a bowl, mix together olive oil, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and lemon juice to create a marinade.
- 3
Marinate the Turkey
Rub the marinade all over the turkey, making sure to coat under the skin and inside the cavity. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
- 4
Roast the Turkey
Place the marinated turkey on a roasting pan and cover it loosely with aluminum foil. Roast in the preheated oven. Cooking time is about 13-15 minutes per pound. Remove the foil during the last hour of cooking to allow the skin to become crispy.
- 5
Check Doneness
Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature of the turkey reaches 165°F (74°C).
- 6
Rest and Serve
Once cooked, let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
