Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Prime Rib

Remove the boneless prime rib from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 1 hour before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Meat

In a small bowl, combine kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, dried rosemary, and dried thyme. Rub the olive oil all over the prime rib, then generously coat the meat with the seasoning mixture, pressing it into the surface.

  3. 3

    Tie the Roast

Using kitchen twine, tie the prime rib at 1-inch intervals to help maintain its shape during cooking.

  4. 4

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).

  5. 5

    Roast the Prime Rib

Place the seasoned prime rib on a roasting rack in a roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes to develop a crust.

  6. 6

    Lower the Temperature

After 20 minutes, lower the oven temperature to 325°F (163°C) and roast for an additional 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness (130°F for medium-rare).

  7. 7

    Rest the Meat

Once cooked, remove the prime rib from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice the prime rib into thick slices and serve with your favorite sides.
