Method

Preparing the Seafood

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crab-Stuffed-Crab

In a bowl, mix crab meat with breadcrumbs, seasoning, and a bit of mayonnaise to bind. Fill the crab shells with the mixture.

  2. 2

    Batter the Seafood

In one bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, whisk eggs and milk together. Dip catfish, popcorn shrimp, and butterfly shrimp first into the egg mixture, then into the dry batter.

Frying the Seafood

  1. 3

    Fry the Seafood

Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the catfish for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Fry popcorn shrimp and butterfly shrimp for 2-3 minutes until crispy. Oysters can be fried for 3-4 minutes until golden. Fry the crab-stuffed crabs for 5-6 minutes.

Preparing the Sides

  1. 4

    Fry the French Fries

In the same oil, fry the French fries according to package instructions until crispy.

  2. 5

    Make the Coleslaw

In a bowl, combine coleslaw mix with coleslaw dressing. Toss well until evenly coated.

Serving

  1. 6

    Assemble the Platter

Arrange all the fried seafood on a large platter, serve with French fries and coleslaw on the side. Enjoy!
