Burger Patties

Method

Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fish

Finely chop the salmon, snapper, and ahi tuna fillets. You can also pulse them in a food processor until coarsely minced.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the chopped fish, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.

  3. 3

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty, about 1 inch thick.

  4. 4

    Cook the Patties

Heat a skillet over medium heat with a little oil. Cook each patty for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and keep warm.

Coleslaw

  1. 5

    Mix Coleslaw Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, shredded carrot, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 6

    Toss Coleslaw

Toss everything together until well combined. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Tartar Sauce

  1. 7

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, chopped dill pickles, capers, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard.

  2. 8

    Chill the Sauce

Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to develop.

Assembly

  1. 9

    Prepare the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns on a skillet or in the oven until golden.

  2. 10

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a fish patty, followed by a slice of cheese, a slice of tomato, and a generous amount of coleslaw. Drizzle with tartar sauce, then top with the other half of the bun.
