Method

Fish Marinade

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a mixing bowl, combine lime juice, olive oil, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well combined.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Fish

Add the white fish fillets to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Batter

  1. 3

    Prepare the Batter

In a large bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add cold water, mixing until the batter is smooth and lump-free.

Frying the Fish

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat enough oil over medium heat for deep frying (about 2 inches).

  2. 5

    Batter and Fry the Fish

Remove the fish from the marinade and dip each fillet into the batter. Carefully place the battered fish into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Taco Assembly

  1. 6

    Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet over medium heat, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Tacos

Place a piece of fried fish onto each tortilla. Top with shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, fresh cilantro, and a few slices of avocado. Drizzle with sour cream and serve with lime wedges on the side.
