Prepare the Burger Patty

Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.

Form Patties
Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
Cook the Burgers

Add Cheese
After flipping, place one slice of cheddar cheese and one slice of jack cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the internal temperature of the burger reaches 160°F (71°C).
Prepare Tartar Sauce

Combine Ingredients
In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, finely chopped dill pickles, capers, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
Assemble the Burger

Prepare the Buns
Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

Add Coleslaw
On the bottom half of each toasted bun, add a generous scoop of coleslaw.

Layer the Burger
Place the cooked burger patty with melted cheese on top of the coleslaw.

Add Tomato
Slice the tomato and place a slice on top of the burger.

Spread Tartar Sauce
Spread a layer of house-made tartar sauce on the top half of the bun and place it on top of the burger.
