Marinated Ahi Tuna

Rice

Method

Prepare the Ahi Tuna

  1. 1

    Dice the Ahi Tuna

Cut the Ahi tuna into small, bite-sized cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix Marinade

In a separate bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and grated ginger.

  3. 3

    Marinate Tuna

Pour the marinade over the diced Ahi tuna, gently mixing to coat all pieces. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.

Cook the Rice

  1. 4

    Rinse the Rice

Rinse the short-grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

  2. 5

    Cook the Rice

In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.

  3. 6

    Fluff the Rice

Once cooked, remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes. Then fluff the rice with a fork.

Assemble the Poke Bowl

  1. 7

    Slice the Avocado

While the rice is cooking and the tuna is marinating, slice the avocado in half, remove the pit, and slice the flesh into thin wedges.

  2. 8

    Build the Bowl

In a bowl, layer the fluffed rice at the bottom, followed by the marinated Ahi tuna. Top with avocado slices, a serving of seaweed salad, and garnish with pickled ginger and wasabi as desired.

  3. 9

    Serve

Enjoy your Ahi Poke Bowl immediately for the best flavor and texture.
