Method

Preparing the Ahi

  1. 1

    Marinate the Ahi

In a shallow dish, combine olive oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, black pepper, and salt. Mix well. Place the Ahi tuna steaks in the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Grill the Ahi

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the Ahi from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the Ahi steaks for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from grill and let rest.

Cooking the Rice

  1. 3

    Rinse and Cook the Rice

Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a medium saucepan, combine rinsed rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.

Steaming the Vegetables

  1. 4

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the Ahi is grilling, prepare the vegetables. In a steamer basket, add broccoli florets, sliced carrot, and bell pepper. Steam over boiling water for about 5-7 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender but still crisp. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt before serving.
