Method
Prepare the Ribs
- 1
Prepare the Ribs
Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F). Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and season both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil.
- 2
Bake the Ribs
Cover the ribs tightly with another layer of foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.
Make the BBQ Sauce
- 3
Combine Sauce Ingredients
In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, mustard, black pepper, and garlic powder. Stir well to combine.
- 4
Cook the Sauce
Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.
Prepare the Coleslaw
- 5
Mix Coleslaw Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage and carrots. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth. Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots and toss to combine.
- 6
Chill the Coleslaw
Cover the coleslaw and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Finish the Ribs
- 7
- 8
Broil the Ribs
Return the ribs to the oven and broil for about 5-10 minutes until the sauce is caramelized and bubbling. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
Serve
- 9
Slice and Serve
Remove the ribs from the oven, let them rest for a few minutes, then slice between the bones. Serve with the remaining BBQ sauce and coleslaw on the side.
