Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Rub the inside round beef roast with olive oil, then coat it with Creole seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Sear the Beef

In a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven, sear the beef roast on all sides over medium-high heat until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.

  3. 3

    Add Aromatics

Remove the beef from the pot. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot, sautéing until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

  4. 4

    Braise the Beef

Return the beef to the pot, then add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaves, and bring to a simmer. Cover the pot and transfer it to the preheated oven.

  5. 5

    Cook

Let the beef braise in the oven for a minimum of four hours, or until it easily falls apart with a fork.

  6. 6

    Shred the Beef

Remove the pot from the oven. Take the beef out and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded beef to the gravy in the pot.

  7. 7

    Assemble the Po' Boys

Slice the po' boy bread and spread mayonnaise on each side. Fill with shredded roast beef, and top with shredded lettuce and tomato slices. Serve with extra gravy on the side.
