Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the batter
In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- 2
Mix in water
Gradually add cold water to the dry ingredients, mixing until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
- 3
Heat oil
In a deep skillet or fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Batter the shrimp
Dip each shrimp into the batter, ensuring they are well-coated.
- 5
Fry the shrimp
Carefully place the battered shrimp in the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.

Drain and serve
Remove the fried shrimp from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with mayonnaise, shredded lettuce, and sliced tomatoes.
