Fried Green Beans
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Green Beans
Wash the fresh green beans and trim the ends. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add cold water and whisk until the batter is smooth and thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Coat and Fry the Green Beans
Dip the green beans into the batter, allowing excess batter to drip off. Carefully place them into the hot oil in batches, frying for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- 5
Serve
Serve the fried green beans hot with homemade ranch dressing on the side.
