Boudin Balls

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the pork sausage, cooked rice, chopped green onions, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Add Egg and Form Balls

Add the beaten egg to the mixture and mix thoroughly. Form the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.

  3. 3

    Coat with Breadcrumbs

Roll each ball in breadcrumbs until fully coated. Set aside on a plate.

  4. 4

    Heat Oil for Frying

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Boudin Balls

Carefully place the boudin balls in the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Remove the boudin balls from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with Rae Rae sauce on the side.
