BBQ Burger Ingredients

Method

Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fried Onion Strings

Soak the sliced onions in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes. In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt, and pepper. Remove onions from buttermilk and coat them in the flour mixture. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat and fry the onion strings until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  2. 2

    Make the Burger Patties

In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into 4 equal patties (8 oz each).

  3. 3

    Cook the Burgers

Preheat the grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties, add a slice of cheddar cheese on top, and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the burger is cooked to your desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burgers

Toast the sourdough buns lightly. On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce, the cooked patty with melted cheese, fried onion strings, sliced tomatoes, and a generous drizzle of BBQ sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the BBQ burgers hot with extra BBQ sauce on the side if desired.
