Method

Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Clams

Rinse the clams under cold water to remove any sand or debris. Place them in a bowl of cold water for about 30 minutes to help them purge any remaining sand.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Once cooled, chop into small pieces.

  3. 3

    Sauté Vegetables

In the same skillet, add olive oil and sauté minced garlic and finely chopped bell pepper until softened.

  4. 4

    Mix the Topping

In a bowl, combine the sautéed vegetables, chopped bacon, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until combined.

  5. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  6. 6

    Stuff the Clams

Open the clams and place them in a baking dish. Spoon the topping mixture generously over each clam.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the clams are cooked through.

  8. 8

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
