Dough and Filling
Method
Preparation and Baking
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Combine Ingredients
Add olive oil, salt, and flour gradually to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 4
Prepare the Filling
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle (about 12x16 inches). Evenly distribute the pepperoni, cheese, and chopped green onions over the dough.
- 5
Roll and Cut
Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other. Cut into 12 equal pieces and place them cut side up on a greased baking sheet.
- 6
Second Rise
Cover the rolls with a clean cloth and let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.
- 7
Bake the Rolls
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- 8
Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving with warm pizza sauce.
