Doughnut Bites

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, mix together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

  4. 4

    Heat Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry Doughnut Bites

Using a tablespoon or small cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of the dough into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Cinnamon Sugar Coating

In a shallow bowl, mix together the powdered sugar and additional ground cinnamon to taste. Roll the warm doughnut bites in the cinnamon sugar until coated.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the doughnut bites warm with caramel and fudge dipping sauces on the side.
