Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Sausages

Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage links and cook until browned and cooked through, about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced bell peppers and onion. Sauté until the vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Combine with Marinara

Once the sausages are cooked, slice them lengthwise and add them to the sautéed peppers and onions. Pour the marinara sauce over the mixture and stir to combine. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Subs

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the sub rolls on a baking sheet. Spoon the sausage and vegetable mixture into each roll. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.

  5. 5

    Melt the Cheese

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven, add fresh basil leaves on top, and serve hot.
