Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Taro Leaves

Rinse the taro leaves thoroughly under cold water. Remove any tough stems and tear the leaves into pieces.

  2. 2

    Sauté Aromatics

In a large pot, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent.

  3. 3

    Cook the Squid

Add the cleaned squid rings to the pot and stir for about 2-3 minutes until they start to turn opaque.

  4. 4

Add Taro Leaves and Coconut Milk

Stir in the torn taro leaves and pour in the coconut milk. Mix well.

  5. 5

    Simmer

Add the water, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover. Let the mixture simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the taro leaves are tender.

  6. 6

    Finishing Touch

Remove from heat and stir in the lime juice before serving. Adjust seasoning to taste.
