Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Pork
Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder and score the meat to allow the rub to penetrate.
- 2
Season the Pork
Rub the Hawaiian sea salt all over the pork shoulder, ensuring it is evenly coated.
- 3
Add Liquid Smoke
Drizzle the liquid smoke over the seasoned pork, making sure to cover all areas.
- 4
Wrap the Pork
If using banana leaves, wrap the pork shoulder in the leaves to keep it moist during cooking.
- 5
Cook the Pork
Place the wrapped pork shoulder in a slow cooker or a roasting pan. Cook on low for 10-12 hours or until the meat is tender and shreds easily with a fork.
- 6
Shred and Serve
Once cooked, remove the pork from the cooker, shred it using two forks, and serve it warm.
