Dough

Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Dough Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add the water while mixing with your hands or a wooden spoon until a dough starts to form.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped green onions, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

Dumpling Assembly

  1. 4

    Roll Out the Dough

After resting, divide the dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter). On a floured surface, roll each ball into a thin circle, about 3 inches in diameter.

  2. 5

    Fill the Dumplings

Place a teaspoon of the filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal tightly.

Cooking

  1. 6

    Steam the Dumplings

Fill a steamer with water and bring it to a boil. Arrange the dumplings in the steamer basket, making sure they are not touching each other. Cover and steam for 15-20 minutes until the dough is translucent and the filling is cooked through.

  2. 7

    Serve

Remove the dumplings from the steamer and serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
