In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Stir in the trimmed green beans and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to soften.

Add the crushed tomatoes to the skillet along with salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and dried basil. Stir well to combine.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the green beans are tender and the flavors have melded together.
