Method
Dumpling Dough Preparation
Mixing the Dough
In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing with a spoon until the dough begins to form.
Kneading the Dough
Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Filling Preparation
Combining Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onions, cilantro, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Dumpling Assembly
Rolling the Dough
After the dough has rested, divide it into equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin circle about 3 inches in diameter.
Filling the Dumplings
Place 1 tablespoon of the chicken filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges to seal.
Cooking the Dumplings
Steaming
Prepare a steamer or a pot with a steaming basket. Bring water to a boil. Place dumplings in the basket, making sure they do not touch. Cover and steam for 10-12 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
Serving
Remove dumplings from the steamer and serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
