Method

Directions

  1. 1

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and diced carrot, cooking until soft, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

  2. 2

    Toast the Rice

Add the long-grain white rice to the saucepan, stirring to coat the rice with the butter and vegetables. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the rice is lightly toasted.

  3. 3

    Add Broth and Seasonings

Pour in the chicken broth and add salt and black pepper. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a boil.

  4. 4

    Simmer the Pilaf

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan with a lid, and let it simmer for 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.

  5. 5

    Fluff and Serve

Remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes. Then, fluff the rice with a fork and stir in the chopped parsley before serving.
