Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Patty

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes on the other side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare Toppings

While the patties are cooking, wash and chop the lettuce, slice the tomato, and slice the onion.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

Spread your favorite condiments on the bottom half of the burger buns. Place the cooked patty on top, followed by the lettuce, tomato, and onion slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
