Preparation

Preparing the Cheese Sauce

1. Make a Roux

In a medium saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Once melted, add 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour and whisk continuously for about 1-2 minutes until the mixture is golden and bubbly.

2. Add Milk

Gradually pour in 100ml of milk while whisking constantly to prevent lumps. Continue cooking for about 3-4 minutes until the mixture thickens.

3. Add Cheese and Seasoning

Reduce heat to low and add 150g of shredded cheddar cheese, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 0.5 teaspoon of paprika. Stir until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth.

Assembling the Nachos

4. Layer Tortilla Chips

On a large serving platter, spread out 200g of tortilla chips evenly.

5. Add Cheese Sauce

Pour the prepared cheese sauce generously over the tortilla chips, ensuring they are well coated.

6. Add Toppings

Sprinkle 50g of jalapeños over the cheese-covered nachos. Finally, drizzle 100ml of salsa on top for added flavor.
