Method
Fried Pickles
- 1
Prepare the Pickles
Drain the jar of dill pickles and pat them dry with paper towels. This will help the batter stick better.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate bowls, place the all-purpose flour in the first bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk in the second bowl, and mix the cornmeal with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder in the third bowl.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small amount of batter into it; it should sizzle immediately.
- 4
- 5
Fry the Pickles
Carefully place the breaded pickles into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Serve
Once all the pickles are fried, serve them hot with ranch dipping sauce.
Ranch Dipping Sauce
- 7
Mix Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, dried dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Stir until well combined.
- 8
Chill
Cover the bowl and refrigerate the ranch dipping sauce for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
