Ingredients for Molten Lava Cake

Method

Instructions for Molten Lava Cake

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ramekins

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and lightly dust them with flour to prevent sticking.

  2. 2

    Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine the unsalted butter and semi-sweet chocolate. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until both are fully melted and smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Stir in the powdered sugar until well combined. Add the flour, eggs, egg yolks, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until just blended, being careful not to overmix.

  4. 4

    Fill Ramekins

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared ramekins, filling each about 2/3 full.

  5. 5

    Bake

Place the ramekins on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is soft.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let them cool for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a drizzle of chocolate sauce, and a fresh strawberry on the side.
