1. Prepare the Rice
Start by cooking the steamed rice according to package instructions. Once cooked, set aside and keep warm.
2. Cook the Protein
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add your choice of protein, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes for chicken or shrimp; 7-10 minutes for beef; 5-6 minutes for tofu).
3. Make the Tomato-Onion Relish
In a bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, diced onion, and soy sauce. Mix well and set aside.
4. Assemble the Bowl
In a serving bowl, add a scoop of steamed rice, top with the cooked protein, and spoon over the tomato-onion relish. Garnish with fresh herbs, if desired.
