Preparation of Turkey
Rinse the turkey under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

Seasoning
Rub the entire turkey with olive oil and season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Make sure to season inside the cavity as well.

Brining (optional)
If desired, brine the turkey in a mixture of chicken broth and salt for about 12-24 hours in the refrigerator.

Soaking Wood Chips
Soak the wood chips in water for at least 30 minutes before smoking.

Preheat Smoker
Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).

Smoking Process
Place the soaked wood chips in the smoker box or directly on the heat source. Place the seasoned turkey on the smoker rack and insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the breast.

Cooking Time
Smoke the turkey for approximately 30 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Resting
Once done, remove the turkey from the smoker and let it rest for at least 20-30 minutes before carving.
