Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Rinse the fresh cranberries under cold water and remove any stems or damaged berries.

  2. 2

    Cook the Sauce

In a medium saucepan, combine the water, granulated sugar, and cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.

  3. 3

    Add Cranberries

Add the fresh cranberries and orange zest to the saucepan. Return to a boil.

  4. 4

    Simmer

Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.

  5. 5

    Season and Cool

Remove from heat, add salt to taste, and allow the sauce to cool to room temperature before serving.
