Churros

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Churro Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball. Let it cool for a few minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Eggs

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Pipe the Churros

Spoon the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting with scissors to desired length.

  5. 5

    Fry the Churros

Fry churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Coat with Sugar

In a bowl, mix granulated sugar with cinnamon. Roll warm churros in the sugar mixture to coat.

  7. 7

    Prepare Chocolate Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine chocolate chips and heavy cream. Stir until melted and smooth.
