Filet Mignon Ingredients
Method
Cooking Directions
Prepare the Steaks
Remove the filet mignon steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps them cook more evenly.
Season the Steaks
Generously season both sides of the steaks with salt and black pepper.
Heat the Pan
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and allow it to heat until shimmering.
Sear the Steaks
Add the steaks to the skillet and sear them for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them. Flip the steaks and sear the other side for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare.
Add Flavor
In the last minute of cooking, add the butter, rosemary, and garlic cloves to the pan. Baste the steaks with the melted butter and herbs.
Rest and Serve
Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite sides.
