Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Mix until a dough forms, then transfer to a floured surface. Knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let the Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.

  2. 6

    Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Divide into two equal portions and roll out each portion into a 12-inch circle.

  3. 7

    Add Tomato Sauce

Spread half of the tomato sauce evenly over each pizza base, leaving a small border around the edges.

  4. 8

    Add Cheese and Toppings

Tear fresh mozzarella into pieces and distribute over the sauce. Add fresh basil leaves and strips of prosciutto on top.

  5. 9

    Bake the Pizza

Carefully transfer the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  6. 10

    Finish with Arugula and Parmesan

Once out of the oven, top with fresh arugula, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with grated Parmesan, and add black pepper to taste.

  7. 11

    Slice and Serve

Let the pizza cool for a couple of minutes, slice, and serve hot.
