Method
Preparing the Dough
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Mix Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center and pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Mix the ingredients together until a dough forms. Transfer to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let it Rise
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Assembling the Pizza
- 5
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
- 6
Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll it out to your desired thickness and shape.
- 7
Add Cheese Toppings
Spread the shredded mozzarella evenly over the dough. Then, sprinkle the grated Parmesan, crumbled Gorgonzola, and dollops of Ricotta cheese on top.
- 8
Drizzle and Season
Drizzle olive oil over the cheese toppings, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Add fresh basil leaves on top.
Baking the Pizza
- 9
Bake the Pizza
Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated oven or pizza stone. Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
- 10
Cool and Serve
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Slice and serve hot.
