Prepare the Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Form the Patties
In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Divide into two equal portions and form into patties.

Cook the Patties
In the same skillet used for the bacon, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

Add Cheese
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on each patty to melt.

Assemble the Burgers
On the bottom half of the hamburger buns, layer lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles. Place the cooked patties on top, add two slices of bacon on each, and cover with the top half of the buns.
