Meatballs

Method

Instructions

  1. 1

    Make the Meatballs

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

  2. 2

    Cook the Meatballs

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Sauce

In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onion, cooking until softened. Stir in the crushed San Marzano tomatoes, fresh basil, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for about 15 minutes.

  4. 4

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Add the baked meatballs to the sauce, stirring gently to coat. Allow to simmer together for 5 minutes.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Sliders

Slice the slider buns in half. Place a meatball on the bottom half, top with a slice of Caciocavallo cheese, and cover with the top half of the bun.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the meatball sliders warm with extra sauce on the side, if desired.
