Cooking the Pasta

Boil the Water
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil over high heat.

Cook the Fettuccine
Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, usually about 10-12 minutes, until al dente.

Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water for later use if needed.
Making the Alfredo Sauce

Melt the Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.

Stir in Heavy Cream
Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly to combine with the butter and garlic.

Add Parmesan Cheese
Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.

Season the Sauce
Add salt, black pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg to the sauce, and stir well to incorporate.
Combining Pasta and Sauce

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked fettuccine pasta to the Alfredo sauce in the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta evenly.

Adjust Consistency
If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to reach the desired consistency.
Serving

Serve the Pasta Alfredo hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley on top.
